Live Fire Training - Arcola

On Saturday 19 April, members from Arcola-Pleasant Valley VFD Co. 9, along with our compliment of career personnel from Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, Dulles South Co. 19, Philamont VFD Co. 8, Ashburn VFD Co. 6, and Falls Church Co. 106 participated in a live fire training burn in a single family structure on Gum Spring Road, donated by Greenvest Land Development. Through the mild Saturday weather, companies were able to participate in fifteen fire evolutions. This provides a realistic environment for members to gain further knowledge about fire behavior, and better understanding about building construction for use in response and protection during structure fire emergencies. Our thanks go out to all the support members who participated to make this an outstanding training day. We also thank the participating departments without whom we could not have held this event.
