Auto Accident with Entrapment on Gum Spring Rd.

At around 3pm today units from Arcola, Aldie, Dulles South, and Prince William were dispatched to an auto accident with reported entrapment on Gum Spring Rd. South of Braddock Rd. Due to a previous call some units were out of station on the initial dispatch. Truck 511 from Prince William was first on scene at Gum Spring south of Mayhew lane. Truck 511’s initial report confirmed a 2 vehicle head on collision with entrapment of one patient in each vehicle. Truck 511 and Rescue 504 completed extrication of the first patient who was then transported by air to a local Trauma Center. Rescue Engine 9 and Tower 19 crew completed the extrication of the second patient who was transported by Medic 9 to a local area hospital. Loudoun County Sheriff’s office is investigating the accident.
