September EMS Training

As fall approaches and football season gets underway APVVFD is doing
their part to get ready. This past Monday, September 1, the EMS crews
held a training session with “football injuries” as the topic of the
night. Jeff Bailey, trainer from the Briar Woods High School in
Brambleton, came out to review special procedures for assisting
football players that may need medical assistance while still in bulky
pads and helmets. During the training, personnel had a chance to work
on removing and working around this protective gear.

APVVFD brings the ambulance and fire crews to the Briar Woods home
games. If you are interested in volunteering at the fire department,
come by and say hello to us during the halftime or before the game
starts. Go Falcons!
