Hands Only CPR, Have you heard ?
Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11:56PM Over the past year the American Heart Association (AHA) has changed some of their recommendations for Sudden Cardiac Arrest CPR. Many people have received CPR certification at some time in their life but many people do not remain current by re-testing every 2 years as recommended. There are also a large number of people that only know about CPR because they have seen it on TV or in a movie. The AHA estimates that only 1/3 of people that suffer a sudden cardiac arrest receive useful bystander CPR because many people are afraid to act fearing that they will "do cpr wrong" or assume that someone else will help. Now the AHA along with all EMS first responders are trying to inform people about hands only cpr.
