Nothing equals the excitement when you hear the alarm tones calling you to respond to an emergency: the exhilaration of diving into your gear and running for the fire engine or ambulance; the satisfaction of knowing that you may save a life. Become a volunteer with the Arcola Volunteer Fire Department -- be one of the dedicated men and women who donate your time when your community calls.  It truly is the experience of a lifetime!

We always are looking for individuals who are committed to making a difference in the community. If you feel you have what it takes to meet the challenges of our business, we'd very much like to talk to you. Prior EMS or firefighting experience is not required.

For those with a desire to support our operations who do not wish to participate in emergency care in the field, we offer administrative membership.  Administrative members provide much of the behind-the-scenes work that keep our operations going, and we are eager for you to get involved.

  • Operational members respond to emergencies and include Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, and Emergency Vehicle Drivers

  • Administrative members provide non-emergency services that support the daily operations of the department, including activites such as events planning, volunteer recruitment, building and equipment maintenance and many other activities.

Junior Members
  • We are no longer accepting new Junior Member applications. We appreciate your interest and please check back our member registration page soon for updates.
